Mirror, Mirror on The Wall, Whos the Fairest of Them All?

So yea its Halloween and don't get me wrong, I do love it, but when trying to diet...ummm...yea it doesn't work out so much. I have a slight addiction to chocolate. Well maybe I should use a stronger word then slight, I would say that the word extreme would suffice! Chocolate and me go hand in hand. Sometimes my husband takes a backseat when there is some chocolate around. Well you get my point....it doesn't help the diet and workout plan but for some reason I just can't back away. I guess that would call for an intervention, I'm just sayin'.

It amazes me how many "tastes" there are when it comes to choosing a Halloween costume. At our Harvest fest tonight at church, I would have had the best time just sitting back and people watching. By the way, that's what I do best, watch people and just observe. Try it. You will love it. Anyway back to the topic...costumes. Ahhh yes I really cant describe it, you know that feeling that just comes over you and you just want to stop the person and say, "Did you even look in the mirror before you left your house?" I mean come on, I know its Halloween and all, but seriously? There comes that point where it just looks trashy. I mean I am guessing sexy was what was trying to be achieved, but you missed the mark. Plus didn't I just mention in the second sentence of this paragraph that it was our Harvest fest at my church? Yes, church.

Enjoy your extra hour of sleep tonight. Thank God tomorrow :)

Pigs Don't Fly and Looters Go Free

Its a miracle! All the laundry is done and the unpacking is complete. Oh and by the way, pigs never flew, so guess who did it all? Umm that's right, me! It only took me a week to do it, but hey it is done and I am rejoicing! I finally can go to my closet to pick out my clothes where they are hanging neatly and not a wrinkled mess bunched in a suitcase. Ahhh it feels good :)

Oh and totally off topic, I just have one question: whats the point in having detectors in a store when someone makes them go off and then no one even pays attention to them? My husband and I had this conversation earlier tonight. He took Ty to Target tonight to get baby food for Emma, well as they were leaving the store, the detectors went off. Anthony said that he stopped, looked around and waited for someone to come to make sure they weren't stealing anything. Well no one came so they continued out the door, loot in tow. Not really...I mean they really went to Target but they didn't really steal anything, wow I just confused myself.

Infamous Neat Freak Lets Down Her Guard

So we have been home from Arkansas for almost four days and we are still living out of our suitcases. I am usually a clean freak and I like everything in order, but for some reason I could care less about unpacking at the moment. No one can see my cluttered mess because I have hidden all the suitcases in Emma's room for the time being.

It is so much easier to pack for a ten day vacation than to unpack. Oh well, I guess I will get to it eventually. As for now my husband is forced to get his boxers and soxs from the mesh pocket inside his suitcase. Hey if he doesn't like it, then he can unpack them. Oh wait, I just made myself laugh on that thought :) When pigs fly...

Wow was I just ranting...umm yes I think I was. We as women are entitled to rant every now and then about our men. Even if it is in a blog, I already feel so much better.

Virginia Welcome Center Invaded by Grandmas.

I must say that a lot can happen in an 18 hour drive from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Chesapeake, Virginia. Each time we make the same road trip, it is always different and each one brings its own stories and adventures. Here are a few things that happened within the first few hours of the trip home; Max the Yorkie decided to vomit all over Ty's Transformers blanket (Ty was not happy about that one), Emma decides to poop about three times in the first hour, and Ty wanted to stop several times to use the bathroom. This all happened before we even entered into Tennessee.

Things calmed down toward the middle of the trip and we were able to make it through Tennessee without any problems. Well once we hit Virginia it started out with a bang. This momma had to pee, so we stopped at the Virginia Welcome Center, not knowing that a tour bus full of cranky old women had stopped right before us which resulted in a line stretching long beyond the door. Well I did not feel like getting back on the road so I decided to get in line and wait. Not a good choice. Not only was I in engulfed with the smell of moth balls and old lady perfume, one of them asked if I wanted to go ahead of them. I declined, confused as why she asked. Well she didn't leave me waiting long. She told me that she understood if I needed to go first since I was EXPECTING. Well I am glad that she decided to let me know, because I didn't have a clue. I just went along with her and agreed because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. Thank goodness I peed faster than her and got out of there before she was probably done wiping.

So lets see I covered throw up, poopy diapers, pee and finding out that I am pregnant from a stranger, oh and add on three more poopy diapers from Emma and several more stops from Ty during the last few hours of the trip.

Well we finally made it home around 11:30 last night and surprisingly I was not tired at all. Both the babies went to bed so fast, which amazed me because they both slept most the trip home. But no complaints here!

All in all we had an amazing vacation with my second family but now it is back to reality and I am officially off the bench and the starting quarterback once again.

Proof of the crazies

So of you that read my blog a few days ago, I had mentioned that my husband and my brother in law had to jump into their parents 56 degree pool to clean it out before they closed it up. Well I now I have some proof of their craziness...pictures!

Florida's home cooking at its best...

How does a team that had five turnovers and six sacks still win a game? I will tell you how. When they play a team that missed two field goals, two missed touch downs, and had two horrible calls.

I just witnessed home cooking at its best during the Gators and Razorbacks game. Two of the worst calls I have seen all season lead to a Gator touchdown that pretty much sealed the fate of the game.

I usually do not get so worked up over a football game but when I am surrounded by nothing but Hog fans, it is hard to just sit back and remain silent. Screaming and jumping up and down were just a few activities that I took part in over the last couple of hours. Maybe I was able to scream and jump off the calories from the amazing banana pudding that I scarfed down during half time.

On a happier note, the catfish that we fried today for lunch was perfection at its best. Nothing like some deep fried southern food to help a diet go bad. But let me tell you, it was so so so worth it. Hey I am on vacation, don't judge :)

Mind Boggling

Here I am again so that I can share with you what boggles my mind every time I enter the lovely state of Arkansas. I have been married to my love for a little over five years and every time I see this establishment my mind goes places that it shouldn't. No words can describe it! Finally I took a picture so that you can form your own conclusions. This place is equivalent to our seven-elevens in Virginia, oh but the name is so much better (hint the sarcasm in my typing).

Orphan purse finds loving home...

The funniest thing happened while we were out this afternoon. As I was walking up and down the purse aisle at TJ Max, a black Red Marc Ecko distressed leather purse just jumped right off the rack and into my cart. I felt so bad for the little thing, so I decided to give it a home. I must say it looks pretty good hanging on my shoulder. :) I just couldn't let it hang there all by itself, so what else could I do? Hey don't judge, you would have done the same thing!

Another day and another dollar...spent! That's right folks, Jonesboro's finest shopping boutiques produced once again.

This just in...
Anthony and his brother just jumped in their parents pool. Yes I know what you are thinking, are they crazy? Well they didn't do it for pure pleasure, they are trying to clean it out so that his parents can close it up. So yea, as I type, they are swimming in a pool when the temperature outside is about fifty degrees. I am inside the house and can still hear them screaming like little girls. I should be out there taking video but I would rather be sitting here in this cozy house talking to you folks. I think I am choosing correctly!

Oh the whole reason for blogging today was to give you this link.

Second string quarterback takes a seat on the bench :)

So lets see...it has been about 10 hours since my first post, I guess that makes it OK to post one more time before the day ends.

We are still in the boondocks of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas...do I need to say more :) Seriously it isn't all that bad. Considering that when I am here my mother-in-law takes over completely and I get to relax, read, and blog how ever much my little heart desires. I do not mind being the second string quarterback. Sitting my little rear end on the bench for a few games does a body good :)

Oh and another great thing that comes from the deep country, home cooking at its best. My mother-in-law rocked it out once again tonight with some Mexican cornbread. I definitely sinned with this meal. I kept shoveling the food into my mouth like I hadn't eaten in a month. So now I am sitting here on the verge of running to the toilet just so that I can give you the recipe...

1 to 2lbs on hamburger meat
1 cup of chopped onion
1/2 cup of chopped bell pepper
1 can creamed corn
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
jalapeno peppers, sliced
cornbread (box or homemade)

Brown meat, onions and peppers. Drain the fat. Add corn and cheese. Spread in long cake pan and top with jalapeno pepper. Make the cornbread and then spread over the mixture. Bake at 400 for 25 to 30 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.

You can leave the peppers off of one end and mark it with toothpicks so that kids or anyone else that doesn't like hot peppers can still enjoy it. Oh and we had okra, fried taters and beans as the sides...FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!

Its about time...

Well, here we are...finally! The Hart family is now blogging and I hope to take all of you on this crazy ride with us. I am excited to finally jump on the blogging train, choo choo!

I never realized how hard it would be to pick a name for this blog. Trying to find a clever name to put a smile on peoples faces about drove me crazy. Needless to say, Listen to Our Hart's Beat won the battle and is now officially our blogs name. A little clever I might add :) Lets see those smiles people!
